Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
My name is Maya Sadeh and I am a ceramic artist.
I live in Israel, I work in a ceramic work shop with special needs people, teach ceramic at my home, and sell my own ceramic work.
What inspired you to become an artist?
I lived in the USA about 20 years ago and used to help a ceramic teacher at Columbia University in New York. I fell in love with ceramic.
What is your speciality?
I love what I am creating at any moment.
All the items that are for sale are one of a kind and unique. I take orders.
Where do you take your inspiration? Are you pursuing any themes?
My inspiration comes from other artists, my students and my needs.
Do you do bespoke work?
I take pre-orders.
What projects are you currently working on?
Black clay plants with a unique blue glaze.
What is or are your favourite items in your current collection?
My plates.
How do you know when a piece is finished?
When I am happy looking at it.
What was the first artwork you ever sold?
Planter
Which project have you enjoyed working on the most so far?
Making Hamsas. I love it because I can make them in all kinds of designs and colors.
What do you want to achieve with your work and what are your wishes for the future?
I love to make people smile, may it be because I teach them or because they bought something they love.
