Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
Hi my name is Yocheved and I am a Judaic artist.
I specialize in Judaic gifts and love to work in vibrant colors and with Resin. My Instagram name is Mazal Designs to bring Mazal, good fortune, to all!
What inspired you to become an artist and what is your speciality?
I became most inspired by reading the weekly Torah portions and by visiting Synagogues and Israel. By the nature around me and I am particularly inspired by water and the splitting of the Red Sea which makes the holiday of Passover so dear to me.
What type of products have you added to your collection since we spoke last?
Recently I have started to work with resin, I adore how much creativity comes out of the product since I can mix different pigments, use my heat gun, add all kinds of stones and create magnificent works of art. I like to specialize in gifts for weddings, using chuppah glass art, Bar Mitzvahs, and even Mother’s Day! I love bringing color into a home and bringing the spiritual component along! I particularly like to also work Hebrew letters using the safrut the I recently learned with Torah ink, feather and all.
I love to make challah and the challah board part of my collection with embedded chuppah glass art is one of my favorites!
Where can we find your work?
My work is all one-of-a-kind, it is rarely duplicated, which makes it more special. The best place to find my work is if you live near me in Houston Texas or I ship all over the country, I have shipped to Florida, New York, New Jersey, California and will ship international.
