Hana lives on the Biblical Mount Carmel in Haifa, overlooking the glistening Mediterranean Sea. She is an artist at heart. Since Hana can remember, she had an affinity for arts, and handmade crafts. Creating art is essential to her being. She makes her own jewelry collections, designs, sculpts, paints, and creates a variety of different artwork. Hana is the sole designer and artist creating the items she sells in her shops; they are unique one-of-a-kind pieces no one else will have but you.
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
I have been drawing and painting since I can remember. Later on, I started sculpting in stone. I have also been designing and making my own jewelry pieces, mainly one-of-a-kind items, which work perfectly with my affinity for the arts. My lines are organic and free flowing. Aesthetics and simplicity are my guides.
What inspired you to become an artist?
To me, creating is living.
What is your specialty?
At the moment, I am designing and making my one of a kind jewelry pieces, as well as creating handmade and hand painted pottery items, such as Hamsa wall hangings.
How and where do you work?
I create my jewelry pieces and artwork in my studio at home, in Haifa.
What is the most indispensable item in your studio?
I do not have a one-word answer for this question. I love to work with ancient Roman glass shards, but when making my jewelry, I use a variety of materials like raw stones, silver, gold filled, sea glass, and much more.
Where do you take your inspiration? Are your pursuing any themes?
I start the day with the view of the Mediterranean Sea lying in front of me, which inspires me day after day. I am inspired by the nature around me as well as by the materials I am using.
What projects are you currently working on?
My jewelry, my pottery, and my artwork.
What is/are your favourite item/s in your current collection?
Since my items are mainly one of a kind it is difficult to choose only one item, I love them all. My ancient Roman glass shard jewelry and my raw stone jewelry are my largest collections.
How do you know when a piece I finished?
When I reach the moment I am pleased with what I see, then I know it is finished.
Do you do bespoke work?
If you mean custom-made orders, I hardly ever do it, but it is possible.
What was the first artwork you ever sold?
As a youngster, I tried to sell some of my paintings to a local art shop. I was thrilled when the first one was sold!
Which project have you enjoyed working on the most so far?
All of them. Every new finished item makes me happy.
What do you want to achieve with your work and what are your wishes for the future?
From the reviews I am receiving from my customers, I am pleased to see that they appreciate and enjoy my art, my work, and craftsmanship. I do hope that more people will find my items, and enjoy them.
