Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background.
My name is Ran Bitton, I’m 38 years old, married to Meital and the father of 3 amazing children.
I’m creating jewelry for 21 years now.
17 years ago, I founded a school of jewelry design and manufacture. I enjoyed creating a new generation of jewelers. This was one of the best experiences of my life.
During this time, I developed my brand “Inbar Fine Jewellery” which is located in the center of Tel Aviv and is known as a house of unique jewelry pieces and creations.
Through my jewelry creations, while using the best quality materials and craft, I’m expressing my passion and creativity.
What inspired you to become a jewellery designer?
My first strong influence with jewelry was when I traveled to India and Nepal. At that time, I fell in love with this profession and the traditional jewelry crafts, it was fascinating and looked so amazing, so I decided to get myself into it and dedicate my life to it.
When you start to design a new collection, what is the process like? Where do you take your inspiration? How do you keep up with the current trends?
The process is very fun and creative. I start with collecting inspiration and building my own inspiration board. Most of my inspiration comes from nature, music the city I live in – Tel Aviv – and the unique people I meet in my shop every day. In my head, I imagen the client that will wear my jewelry and I see the happiness and confidence it brings to his/her life and it gives me lots of creative ideas. Then I doodle & sketch, and from their start creating whether with a 3D software or totally handcraft with wax or directly with the metals I work with. From there I go to polishing and diamond setting. I believe jewelry is and should be timeless, so I care less about trends. However, I do make sure my designs are up to date while keeping remain true to my style and design ideas.
What do you enjoy the most about the design process?
I love going deep into the fantasy and waking up to a finished product, it always feels like magic.
What are your favorite materials to work with?
I really love high carat gold – 18K, 22K and also diamonds, of course.
I have tremendous respect for these materials and I think it’s astonishing to have a stone that was created millions of years ago, lying on your finger.
What is your favourite collection?
My favorite collection is the “treasure” collection. In this collection, I try to tell a fantastic story of an old treasure found at the bottom of the ocean and I have the privilege to discover, present and share it with my clients.
What are your wishes for the future?
My biggest wish is to continue to create and touch people with my creations. Besides, I really wish to be exposed to new markets around the globe and to meet more customers from countries and cultures other than mine.
