I was born in Kiev, which is the capital of Ukraine. I grew up in a creative Jewish family. My grandfather was born into a Klezmer family and played the violin. My mother paints, plays the piano, and is a songwriter. Growing up, I was always surrounded by music and creativity. Since early childhood, I have been taught to paint and to play the piano. Probably not by accident, both rhythm and music are important in my work.

I have studied various art techniques and, while already in Israel, Graphic Design.

In Kiev, I began to cut paper being influenced by folk and decorative art. When I arrived in Israel in 1991 and moved to Jerusalem it was very nice to know that paper cut was part of Jewish of the past.

The land of Israel, the Old City, and the atmosphere of Jerusalem inspired me to work on Judaica pieces.

Since 1994, I have worked as an artistic editor and a senior publications producer for the Israel Antiquities Authority’s publishing department parallel to my work.

I keep working on new projects. My favourite works are: “In the stream”, which presents the infinite cycle of life on water, air, and land. “East-West”, which I did influences by my mother’s poems. It shows the difference and, at the same time, the perfection and unity of the West and the East.

In papercutting I do not solely work on Judaica pieces, but also allow the viewer to dream and stimulate their thoughts.

I participated, and continue to participate, in various fairs and exhibitions. In 1992, I participated in the “Hutzot HaYotzer” International fair in Jerusalem, where I sold my first painting using a paper-cutting technique in Israel. Since then, I’ve sold my work all over the world.

My work can be found in private collections in Israel, the US, Australia, England, Canada, and many other countries.

My studio is in my home in Ma’aleh Adumim near Jerusalem, which has always been and remains a source of my inspiration.
